Fourth Level Test 3 is now ridden while Janet gives scores and commentary. She first explains what they are looking for in the test including mobility in the shoulders. She gives great insight into how to ride the test to garner the most points possible with a given horse. Janet has her ride the medium canter on the diagonal with a special emphasis on clear transitions in and out of the medium with the flying change happening while still on the diagonal. This horse shows great talent for collection, so Janet helps her use that talent to show the difference between the collected and medium canters. She explains how his problems with changes throughout the test in both directions affects the submission score. Janet has her ride a haunches in while keeping the shoulders out on the circle at the canter going right. She asks her to bend and give until she gets the correct bend for the half pass and then come down centerline to ride the half pass with that bend. The half pass greatly improves and she gets a clean flying change. She talks about what challenges this horse faces with his more square confirmation, including changes. Janet concludes by telling her which movements she can earn the most points for the highest score.
